Day 3 of #ScoutForum ushered in new Youth Advisors

Highlight of Day Three was the election of the new Youth Advisors to the World Scout Committee for the Triennium 2014-2017. Congratulations to Daiana Neil (Argentina), Montaser Hosny Abdelmaged (Egypt), Jérémy Apert (France), Máire Fitzgerald (Ireland), Maeed Mohamed Zahir (Maldives,) and Luis Antonio Aguayo Miranda (Mexico).

During the session “Strategy for Scouting and the Triennial Plan”, the participants took time to review WOSM’s draft Vision 2023, mission and strategic priorities. They also engaged with WOSM’s representatives to discuss the strategic priorities.

The afternoon was capacity building time where the participants moved into breakout sessions on the following themes - advocacy, employment, skills for life, communication, leadership, project development, entrepreneurship, global citizenship, human rights education, volunteering, intercultural dialogue, and national youth policies.

Following that, the participants spent time to write draft resolutions in their respective International teams. They then submitted the drafts and ideas for the Declaration of the Forum to the Planning Committee.

Wrapping up the day was the 10th anniversary celebration of the Scouts of the World Award. More information on the Award can be found on scout.org/scoutsoftheworldaward.
