Mongolia to provide safe environment at 31st Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree

For the first time, The Scout Association of Mongolia (TSAM) will host the 31st Asia-Pacific Scout Jamboree in 2017. In preparation for this work, TSAM is taking a very important step of providing safe environment for young people.

TSAM organized the National Risk Management Workshop at the Scout Camp, Tuv Aimag, Mongolia, on 6-9 July 2015, equipping 35 young Scout leaders on Risk Management Processes, Risk Probability and Consequence, Managing the Risk for Troup Leaders, among others, as capacity building project of the Messengers of Peace Initiative.

TSAM is set to finalize its own National Risk Management Policy this year.

With the leadership of Workshop Director Ms. Uugantsetseg Gantumur, who, with the help of selected Rovers, interpreted the presentations and discussions as most participants speak only the local dialect.

Overseas resources speakers who assisted the workshop were Aminur Rahman and Jamal Harim Bin Abdulla, both members of APR Panel of Specialists; Mr. Ramakrishnan Ramasamy, Persekutuan Pengakap Malaysia Risk Management Committee chairman; and Malcolm Tan, APR Management Sub-Committee Chairman who served as advisor.

Malcolm Tan, with TSAM Secretary General Bayarjargal Damdindagva, recognized the support of the volunteers and the regional office represented by Prassanna Shrivastava and Syd Castillo.
