700 Million Scout Service Hours!

Today we reached a landmark. Over 700 million hours of service to community have now been recorded through almost 21,500 projects on scout.org!

This is an outstanding achievement in the 3 years since we started inviting Scouts to share their community service projects, especially as we know that recorded hours reflect only a fraction of the time that Scouts around the world put into their communities. Only 156,738 Scouts are registered, out of over 40 million members around the World. If this is what just that small portion of our true impact, imagine what the total would be if every community project Scouts did was added!

What we see here is a representation of the impact that Scouting has, not just on the lives of those who are in the movement, but also the communities around them. We always try to help when we can, and this is more important than ever when natural disasters like #HurricaneMatthew hit. Scouts in #Haiti are already on the ground trying to help with recovery and relief. You can give them a hand by donating to our #ScoutAid project, as we did for Nepal last year.

We should be truly proud of our achievements so far, you are encouraged to share this news far and wide. A huge thank you to the leaders who supported these projects, and congratulations to the Scouts who made it happen!

Keep up the fantastic work, keep making a difference, and keep making BP proud by doing a good deed every day!
