JOTA-JOTI 2021 programme encourages young people to keep moving towards the SDGs

7 minutes

JOTA-JOTI 2021 is right around the corner and will take place from 15 to 17 October 2021. This year’s event focuses on the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and our role as Scouts in promoting peace, tackling inequality and protecting the environment.

Through JOTA-JOTI and Scouts for SDGs, we invite young people to discover and strengthen their competencies as active citizens for sustainable development, and to take action in their communities through service actions to work towards achieving the SDGs.

JOTA-JOTI 2021 is centred around four pillars that build the foundation for this year’s programme:

  • Sustainability and the environment: To protect the planet, address local concerns and mitigate the effects of climate change.
  • Peace and community engagement: To promote mutual understanding and appreciation of diversity, inclusion, respect and resilience.
  • Health and well-being: To develop awareness and solutions to improve health and wellness personally and among others.
  • Skills for Life: To build capacity and develop skills to improve quality of life for individuals and communities.

JOTA-JOTI 2021 Programme Areas

The exciting JOTA-JOTI 2021 programme features a variety of non-formal education activities involving Scouts and global partners, including workshops, global campfires, talent shows, live shows, fun challenges and more. Similar to last year, the JOTA-JOTI Live Shows will be streamed on WOSM’s social media channels to offer more opportunities for young people and volunteers to connect, engage and be part of the fun.
