Dear friends,
Brothers and sisters,
The WSB Eurasia Support Center and the Eurasia Scout Committee regrets to report:
7th September 2016 has passed away a great man, our friend and colleague - FRANCISCO S. ROMAN, Member Emeritus of the BSP National Executive Board.
Frankie, as he is fondly called, served as National President of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines from 1986 to 1989, and later became its International Commissioner.
He also served as the Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Committee from 1989 to 1992.
He became the second Filipino Chairman of the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement in 1996.
Mr. Roman was conferred the Bronze Wolf Award at the end of his term in 1992, the APR Award for Distinguished Service in 1995, the BSP National President Award in 1996, and the Tanglaw ng Kabataan Award in 1998.
Francisco Roman had a special significant role for the Eurasia Scout Region: the Region was founded during his term at the World Scout Committee (March, 1997); Francisco was the Chairman of the founding conference of the Eurasia Scout Region, Armenia (April, 1998).
Mr. Frankie Roman made an invaluable contribution to the Eurasia Scout Region, and we, Scouts of Eurasia, will never forget his great support.
