The 25th European Scout Conference voted today to award Federazione Italiana Dello Scautismo (FIS) the right to host the 26th European Scout Conference in 2028. The next Conference in Italy will build on the decisions taken during the 25th European Scout Conference to increase youth engagement and continue to innovate World Scouting’s convening of Member Organizations.

Building on the outcomes of the 25th Conference, the event in Italy will serve as a platform to carry forward the commitments made by National Scout Organizations, with a renewed focus on empowering young people to lead change and shaping the future of the Region.

Known for its rich cultural heritage, vibrant civic participation, and history of intergenerational dialogue, Italy offers a compelling backdrop for the next edition of this key governance event.

The European Scout Conference is the governing body of the European Region of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). Held every three years, the Conference gathers 47 National Scout Organizations to shape the Region’s shared priorities, policies, and direction. It also provides a unique forum to strengthen European cooperation and promote the values of active citizenship among young people.

FIS envisions the Conference as a profound educational and community-building experience — not just a formal event, but a living example of the Scout Method in action. The programme will be co-created with young people, grounded in simplicity, and rooted in dialogue and participation, offering space for personal and collective growth.

More details about the venue and the dates of the 26th European Scout Conference will be announced in the coming months.
