Messengers of Peace

Mariana Elizalde Cano, a 23-year-old Scout from Mexico, became a Messenger of Peace Hero in 2021 in recognition of her remarkable work in producing and donating over 160 prosthetic arms across Mexico using her home 3D printer.

As a passionate advocate for nature and the outdoors, Bianca Iloaia, a Scout from Romania, is leading efforts to raise awareness on climate change and sustainability within her Scout group and local communities.

Today, World Scouting is proud to honour 12 incredible young people with this year’s Messengers of Peace Heroes Award for their outstanding service and contributions towards building peace and promoting sustainable development in their communities.

This week, 15 Messengers of Peace Heroes came together in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia to celebrate a decade of Scouting’s peace-building efforts and set the stage for the next ten years of impact through the Messengers of Peace initiative.
