South Africa: Gauteng Scouts mark 13th March by protecting the environment

GAUTENG: On the 13th March 2011, Gauteng Scouts participated for the first time in Africa Scout Day. The focus of the event -- held at Delta Park and Delta Park scout Camp -- was on the environment.

110 Scouts and three commissioners participated. The troops that attended were: Adiero, White Horse, Rivertrail, 1st Discovery, Florida Sea Scouts, Jan Smuts, 1st Edenvale (girls and boys), 1st Randburg, Fairlands, 1st Halfway House, 37th Springvale, 1st Craighall, 1st Rosebank and North West District Rovers.

Gauteng province Scouts decided that they will be participating in Africa scout day every year. The focus will be on environment conservation.
