HM The King of Sweden and WSF Board Members visit WSB Global Support Centre, Kuala Lumpur

The World Scout Bureau Global Support Centre, Kuala Lumpur was today honoured by the visit of His Majesty The King of Sweden, King Carl XVI Gustaf, and his colleagues from the World Scout Foundation (WSF) Board.

His Majesty The King is on a two-day personal visit to Kuala Lumpur to participate in the Board Meeting of the Foundation of which His Majesty The King is the Honorary Chairman.

During an all staff meet-and-greet, His Majesty The King expressed his excitement about visiting the WSB Global Support Centre, saying: “I have heard so much about this office and I am glad to be here with you in Kuala Lumpur. It is such a vibrant city. I can feel good vibes in the air. Carry on with all the great work you are doing to create a better world.”

WOSM Secretary General, Scott Teare, said: “It is an honour to have His Majesty The King and the WSF Board members at this Global Support Centre. This is an excellent opportunity for us to showcase this Bureau, and for our staff members to meet and interact with His Majesty and all the distinguished members of the Foundation Board.”

This is His Majesty The King’s first visit to the WSB Global Support Centre, Kuala Lumpur since its opening in June 2014. It is also the first time the WSF is holding its Board meeting at this Global Support Centre, giving the WSF Board the opportunity to engage with the WSB on WOSM’s global priorities towards Vision 2023.
