A New Address for WSB Global Support Centre, Geneva

This Friday, 12 June 2015, an Open House is being organised to celebrate the relocation of the World Scout Bureau (WSB) Global Support Centre, Geneva to its new premises at Rue Henri-Christiné 5.

The World Scout Bureau was known as the Boy Scouts International Bureau when it was first established in 1920 in London, England. It was then tasked with the administration of the Scout Movement worldwide. In 1957, it relocated to Ottawa, Canada and later moved to Geneva-Plainpalais, Switzerland where it has been since 1968.

Today, the bureau is part of the shared service centre for the global operations of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). It is responsible for legal and risk management as well as the archiving of legal and historical documents, unique memorabilia and awards. The other global support centre of WOSM is based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.

João A. Gonçalves, Chairperson of the World Scout Committee, and Scott A. Teare, Secretary General of WOSM, will be representing World Scouting at the event. Also attending will be the Delegate to International Geneva, Olivier Coutau, as well as members of the Scout Movement, partners and representatives from international organisations.
