1st Gilwell Reunion - Botswana
Event overview
The 1st Botswana Scouts Gilwell Reunion is a national gathering of Wood Badge holders and adult Scout leaders aimed at strengthening fellowship, renewing commitment to service, and celebrating the traditions of Gilwell as established at Gilwell Park.
The event will be delivered using the patrol system and will include a Gilwell-style opening ceremony, patrol-based activities, leadership reflection sessions, and a traditional campfire. A focused Gilwell Leadership Tutoring Session will be conducted to enhance mentorship and coaching skills among participants.
The reunion will serve as a platform for networking, experience sharing, and reinforcing the values of Scouting. Participants will be encouraged to wear full Gilwell regalia, with items available through the Botswana Scouts Association.
This inaugural event aims to establish a sustainable annual tradition for adult leader engagement and development in Botswana, while welcoming international Scout leaders interested in Wood Badge fellowship and leadership exchange.
