Monday January 3rd 2011, will mark the beginning of the World Organization of the Scout Movement’s 11th World Scout Youth Forum. Taking place in Blumenau, Brazil from the 3rd – 6th of January this is one of the very first world Scout events of the year followed closely by the 39th World Scout Conference also taking place in Brazil in Curitiba.

The theme of the 11th World Scout Youth Forum is Paddle your Own Canoe aimed at capturing the spirit of Scouting in empowering and educating responsible and committed young people. Two subthemes to the Forum “Empowering young adults” and “Scouting a World Wide Movement", will drive discussions addressing the issues of youth involvement in society, rights, development and personal commitments as well as discussing the revitalization of the Youth Programme and Scouting’s impact on society amongst other topics of discussion.
