Youth Engagement in Good Governance is Key to Better Scouting

The two-day training on youth engagement for good governance kicked-off today at Efua Sutherland Children’s Park. It is being attended by about thirty Scout leaders and young people from Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Ghana, Nigeria and Tanzania.

Key highlights of the day include a discussion on governance and good governance practices, factors that contribute to good governance, role of young people in ensuring good governance and how adults can support youth engagement in good governance.

This was followed by a discussion on dialogue and how Scouts can do to become better mediators and dialogue facilitators based on the seven principles of dialogue developed by the King Abdul-Aziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID). The training ends on Mach 11.
