Scout saves 9-year old boy in Maldives

On 10th April 2015, 9-year old Ahmed Shaiban was saved by Scout Ahmed Azuhad and his friend Mohamed Musrih. The incident happened at Baa Atoll Eydhafushi Island, where Shaiban was reported to have slipped from the jetty while taking a stroll alone.

Scout Azuhad said he saw a boy floating in the sea without any movement, so he jumped in along with his friend Mohamed Musrih. While he pulled the kid onto a nearby boat and administered first aid, his friend went to gather people for help.
Soon the kid was taken to the hospital for treatment with the help of people who gathered at that area. Shaiban was discharged from hospital after treatment the next day.

Azuhad, a 10th grade student of the Baa Atoll Education Centre received a bravery certificate from his school for saving the kid’s life.
