ACCRA – On 13th March 2010, the Africa Scout Day was marked nationally in Ghana through three main activities: A talk show on Scouting, the signing of a partnership between the Ghana Scout Association (GSA), The Ghana Girl Guides Association (GGGA) and Scouting Netherlands (SN), and a hike.

Ms. Jemima Nartey, Chairperson, Africa Scout Committee who is from Ghana was hosted alongside Joep Cremers of Scouting Netherlands and Dzifa Tamakloe of the Ghana Girl Guides Association on the breakfast show of the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation. They spoke at length on the partnership, Scouting as a whole and the significance of Africa Scout Day.

This was followed by a ceremony for the signing of a partnership between the three organizations. This landmark partnership will focus on capacity building for Ghanaian Scouts. A dinner party was hosted by the Ghana Scout Association in order to celebrate both the partnership and the day.

On the next day, Sunday 14th March, a hike was organized around the National Scout Training. This was done by Rovers in the Greater Accra Region with staff from the National Headquarters and friends from Scouting Netherlands in attendance.
