18-year-old saves grandmother’s life with skills learned as a Boy Scout

Scouting empowers young people with life skills, and in the case of Will Tankersley from the USA – life-saving skills.
The incident happened a mall in Statesboro, Georgia, when Will and his family were out on a day of shopping. Everything was going well until lunch time, when his grandmother suddenly began to choke on a piece of steak.
Sensing that her life was in danger, Will immediately took action. 'I knew if I didn’t do something, my grandma would not make it.' He performed the Heimlich Maneuver which he had learned as a Boy Scout. It worked.
As they say in Scouting, learn it young. Remember it forever. You never know when your Scouting skills might make a life-changing difference or even save a life. Read the full story here.
