Condolences to Nepal

2 minutos

Dear Brother and Sister Scouts,

Yesterday, the people of Nepal experienced the country’s worst earthquake in more than 80 years. Within minutes, the powerful 7.9-magnitude quake devastated the entire nation, particularly the populous Kathmandu Valley. While the full scale of the disaster has yet to emerge, more than 1000 lives have been lost and hundreds more injured.

My heart goes out to the Nepalese Scouts and their countrymen who are suffering from the loss of their family members, friends, homes and jobs. I hope for a swift recovery and pray for all Nepalese who will continue to face numerous challenges as they rebuild their lives.

Yours in Scouting,

Scott A. Teare
Secretary General
