Geneva, Tuesday 12 February - Pascal Ndene officially launched his debut book - ' Un Scout Sénégalais: L'aventure citoyenne' (A Senegalese Scout: A citizen's Adventure) at the Centre de l'Espérance, Geneva, Switzerland.

In his book, Pascal reflects on the impact that Scouting had on his adolescence, which he spent growing up in Mbour, Senegal. Pascal holds a Masters in Sociology, and now lives in Geneva, working as a educational specialist with young people who are socially marginalised.

Whilst Un Scout Sénégalais gives a personal insight into Pascal's experiences of Scouting, it also delves into the issues of non-formal education, relationships with parents and peers, citizenship and how Scouting is interconnected with all of these.

Speaking at the book launch, Pascal said “Non-formal education has become impossible to circumvent. We can no longer doubt its legitimacy as a strong social force.”

Dr. Jacques Moreillon, former Secretary General of the World Organization of the Scout Movement also spoke at the event.
