World Scouting advances youth voice in global decision-making spaces

Maleo Stanley Lameck, one of World Scouting's Youth Representatives, has been selected to join the fourth cohort of Generation Unlimited’s Young People’s Action Team for 2026–2028, bringing the experiences and perspectives of young people in Scouting into a global space for youth participation and decision-making.
Maleo

Maleo will join young leaders from around the world in the Young People’s Action Team (YPAT) of Generation Unlimited (GenU), a global partnership anchored in UNICEF. The appointment marks another opportunity for Scouts to contribute directly to conversations and decisions that shape opportunities for young people around the world.

Generation Unlimited established YPAT to ensure that young people are meaningfully involved in its work at local, regional and global levels. Members contribute their perspectives to programmes, partnerships and advocacy, participate in consultations and help ensure that the experiences of young people, particularly those who are vulnerable or marginalised, are reflected in decision-making.

Youths

As a member of the 2026–2028 cohort, Maleo will contribute to consultations and discussions, support youth-led initiatives and advocacy, collaborate with young leaders globally and participate in a thematic group focused on specific areas of GenU’s work.

This development reflects World Scouting’s commitment to meaningful youth leadership, ensuring young people are not only represented in global conversations but also actively help shape decisions that affect their generation.
