Macau Scouts join Nucleic Acid Testing Drive

The Community Services Department of The Scout Association of Macau (TSAM) recently joined the Macau Second and Third Mass Nucleic Acid Testing (NAT) Drive by the Macau Special Administrative Region Government. TSAM took action mobilising and organising eligible Scouts forming two Scout Volunteer Teams in no time.
The Scout Volunteer Teams geared into action providing services at two general public stations for the Macau citizens. They round up tirelessly keeping posts 24 hours a day for 72 hours NAT Drive at the two stations. They played an important role in maintaining discipline and order.
They were dispatched at Sino-Portuguese Technical Professional School-Indoor Sports Hall and Colégio Mateus Ricci for the Macau Second Mass NAT Drive last 25 to 28 September 2021. A total of 168 scouts participated rendering 1,300 hours of community service; while the Macau Third Mass NAT Drive was held only at Sino-Portuguese Technical Professional School last 4 to 7 October 2021. A total of 211 scouts participated contributing 1,624 hours of community service this time.
To Participate and To Serve The Community has always been among the effective strategies of TSAM in cultivating Scouting. This has been well reflected in this sudden mission of current national and global needs. Scouts with good team spirit have worked in solidarity. Scout Volunteers has been a great help not only in the Macau Government's drive to eliminate the hidden threats of the global pandemic but also in helping to restore pre-pandemic life for Macau citizens and the rest of the people staying in Macau as soon as possible.
TSAM plans to produce a special Commemorative Badge called Macau Second Mass Nucleic Acid Testing. This badge will be allowed to be pinned on the Scout uniform of Scouts and leaders who rendered their time, great efforts, and contributions on this call of public service.
