5th Scouts of the World Discovery in Bolivia

After the high expectations created during the 1st Panamerican Scout Moot in January, 50 Rover Scouts from all over Bolivia gathered at the 5th Scouts of the World Discovery, held in the city of Cochabamba. This discovery was held during the Easter holidays, as has been the tradition over the past 4 years, in parallel with the training Wood Badge of the Scout Association of Bolivia.
Due to the quantity of people undertaking the Scouts of the World Discovery, it was necessary to create two parallel groups of 25 Rover Scouts each. The participants demonstrated their commitment to being protagonists of change in their own different communities. Both groups were an example of the diversity of the country and how they can learn from each other. During the Discovery 5 of the 9 departments (provinces) were represented.
The team leaders are people committed to the implementation of the Scouts of the World Award from different districts such as La Paz, Oruro and Cochabamba. Participants analysed and explored the environmental problems of Lake Alalay, and they also visited the community of Bello Horizonte and analysed the needs and problems of the development of that locality.
One of the Rover Scout said that after this experience he has renewed his Scout commitment and convinced him that the Scout movement is a generator of change.
The SW Discovery is an adventure lasting several days, organised by a National Scout Organisation with a focus on environment, development or peace.
