Another Communication Forum concludes in Swaziland

MANZINI - From 20 to 23 May 2010, the second in a series of communication forums was held in the Kingdom of Swaziland. This training that targeted anglophone National Scout Organizations (NSOs) brought together all NSOs of the southern region of Africa but Lesotho and Angola. In addition NSOs from other sub-regions were represented. They include, Kenya, Madagascar and Ghana. The Chairperson of the Africa Scout Committee, Ms. Jemima Nartey, was in attendance.
Said one delegate, "The Communications Forum was extremely informative and educational. I am glad that I was able to attend." The content of this forum was aimed at equipping participants with an array of tailor-made communication skills which are required to represent the Scout movement to different stake-holders.
One of the highlights was the session on a simulation of a TV interview, where participants were to act as spokespersons of the Movement. This face-off with an "uninterested and impatient" journalist proved that representing the Movement is not an easy task and requires certain competencies.
Those who participated were given certificates during a ceremony attended by the Regional Director, Mr. Frederic T. Kama-Kama.
