Luc Panissod, former WOSM Secretary General, is currently at the WSB Global Support Centre, Kuala Lumpur. Still very much involved in Scouting, he is here to participate in weeklong meetings with various staff teams that he is supporting as a volunteer advisor. He has also been serving as an active member of the current World Honours & Awards Committee.

Here is a message he shared on the occasion of his first visit to the Global Support Centre:

After 30 years spent as a professional in the World Scout Bureau in the service of World Scouting, the last years being the Secretary General of WOSM, I visited the World Scout Bureau Global Support Centre in Kuala Lumpur for the first time ... this time as a "grass-roots level" volunteer still rendering services to WOSM.

I am here at the request of Secretary General Scott Teare to advise on a number of matters, including on the work for a revised global fee system.

I am thrilled to discover very nice modern facilities and an office set-up very conducive for work: bright light, large windows, clear wood and comfortable desks. This combined with a refreshed and rejuvenated mentality within the staff members has already resulted in significant improvements to the development Scouting worldwide.

Since the new office opened, I have witnessed an incredibly large production of very high quality documentation and a tremendous increase in the quantity and quality of diversified services rendered to NSOs. I had the opportunity to congratulate the staff under the guidance of the Secretary General for these achievements.
