New staff join the World Scout Bureau Global Support Centre

Marek Fukas from Bratislava, Slovakia, has recently joined the World Scout Bureau Global Support Centre as a Project Manager, Social Funding.

Marek has a solid experience in project management, gained from 15 years of delivering projects in ICT industry. Since graduating the University of Economics in Bratislava he has worked for global IT players such as Logica (now CGI) and Alcatel-Lucent, later on, he started his own IT consultancy company that became part of Czech group ARTIN in 2013. His main professional interests are IT start-ups and philanthropic software projects.

He is also a member of the Board (Treasurer) of Scouting Slovakia. In that capacity, he also oversaw a social funding project for the NSO which gives him hands-on experience for managing the Social Funding project at the World Scout Bureau that will deliver a global Donation platform for funding local and national scouting projects worldwide, by the end of 2016.

Marek will be a member of the Global Team, Organisational Development and will report directly to Sebastian Meitz, Director, Project Management.

Marek will be based in Bratislava, Slovakia and he will carry out his role remotely making full use of the virtual working methods available within the World Scout Bureau.

He is married and has four children.
