Bharat Scouts & Guides of India sets target

The Bharat Scouts & Guides (BS&G) held its National Strategic Planning Workshop from 4-8 Mach 2014 at the National Headquarters, in New Delhi, India, with a vision to shape the future of Scouting in India in coordination with Asia-Pacific Region/World Organization of Scout Movement and World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts. A total of 56 participants from 25 states came and contributed in drafting the National Strategic Plan.

BS&G National Commissioner Mr. B. I. Nagarale inaugurated the workshop and asked the participants to put all their efforts in assessing the current situation of BSG, identify the weaknesses that will help in drafting a realistic strategic plan that will further strengthen Scouting in the Country. International Commissioner (Scouts) Mr M.A. Khalid welcomed the participants.

APR WOSM Regional Director Mr J. Rizal C. Pangilinan, in his key note address, highlighted the golden years of BSG and encouraged the participants to implement at their respective levels what ever they will learn and decide in the planning workshop. He also assured all support and co operation from APR WOSM. Ms. Grace Tam Development Executive also addressed the gathering and assured full support to BSG. Mrs Rakesh Dhawan International Commissioner (Guide) gave the vote of thanks.

A team of 23 staff and facilitators along with Ms Grace Tam Development Executive WAGGGS, Ms. Jen Barron Sangam World Center Manager, Ms Wajira Silva Asia Pacific Resource pool member and Mr S. Prasanna Srivastava Director, Development, Support and Finance APR WOSM facilitated the workshop.
