A summer full of Messengers of Peace

Scouting and Peace-2 essential things that are found not only in the scout principles, but in the grand great project "Messengers of Peace" launched worldwide.
NSAM is one of many associations that through this project is making a step in solving national problems and in promoting peace at the local level.

The projects of NSAM “Together in Scouting, Together for Peace” aims are:

1. The enlargement of “Messengers of Peace”;
2. Social involvement of children whose parents or one parent left abroad;
3. Development of social, intellectual, moral, physical skills through scout method;
4. Education of children and youth in the spirit of an active civic participation.

As promoters of these values are scouts and future scouts who attended in camps organized for all age groups within NSAM during the entire period of summer. The camp was attended 443 children of all ages (Cub Scouts 7-10 years, camp organized on 11-15 July, v. Ivancea, Orhei; Adventurers 11-14 years, camp held on 15-20 July , v. Talmaza, Stefan-Voda; Explorers 15-17 years , July 30-August 4, v. Andrusul de Sus, Cahul; Rover 18-21 years, 12-17 August camp organized, v. Saharna, Orhei).
Each camp has been a well established, depending on the particularities of each age but they all included common points such as: workshop "Peace", "SOS Nature", "Scout Skills", social activities (help to the visited monasteries during the camps, help for the elderly in villages
near the camp). All participants were divided into patrols, which were mixed -Scouts and future Scouts, children with both parents and children of immigrants or from socially vulnerable families.
During the few days of camp, participants had the opportunity of to know, to absorb and to be in for everything they have learned. Regardless of the status, all the kids have worked shoulder to shoulder, full of enthusiasm, smiles and eager to know and discover new experiences and scout challenges.
Thus, Cub Scouts have learned practice of being a Scout and a Messenger of Peace with a fixed schedule, in which each day was named as the Scout Principle: Duty to God, Duty to our Neighbor and Duty to Himself. This approach gives to children the opportunity to discover Peace
through the prism of religion, assistance you can give a friend / unknown person and not least personal development.
Adventurers have discovered the a Messenger’s key concept: Adventure, Nature and Friendship. Adventure-life self- discovery within inciting and risks. Nature- the host place of the camp: forest full of squirrels, ants and other insects, which were used as educational tool. Friendship- promoting friendship between Scouts of all ages, social status and religion.
Explorers had to go through other stages in order to educate a healthy way of life, methods and techniques of effective communication regardless of where they are, actively participated in exploring the village by providing aid to those in need (elderly, disabled) and performing animation for children in the village.
Rovers, the adult branch in NSAM had the chance to enjoy a great camp, simply by integrating a team of 4 Rover of SGDF (Scouts et Guides de France). Cultural milieu that was formed, allowed the scouts not only to get acquainted to the new scout experience, but also to integrate more detail in personal experience. Moldavian Scouts with the French formed a team which harmoniously mixed the various religions, friendship, tolerance and Scout spirit from the hearts of each participant. In this context of diversity, but also unity workshops were lead or guided on first aid, patrol paths of resistance that pointed out the need for confidence in your teammates. Just when you learn to have confidence on your neighbor, then you become more mature, more responsible, and more aware of values- become a Messenger of Peace.
This summer has proven to be one full of games, songs, challenges, fun activities and self-dedication perfect combination for a successful camp with true Messengers of Peace.
