Scouts’ Solar badge (global) launched in Pakistan

Scouting takes another step forward on green environment as the Solar Badge (Global) was launched during the APR Workshop on Environment Education, in Islamabad Pakistan on 14-18 September 2015.
The badge was developed by the World Organisation of the Scout Movement, in partnership with Greenpeace and Solafrica under the ‘Scouts go Solar’ project of the World Scout Environment Badge, implemented in 2014 and 2015 by the Boy Scouts of Philippines and Pakistan Boy Scout Association.
It was tested at the 14th National and 2nd Scout Jamboree 2014 in Pakistan at the World Scout Jamboree in Japan August 2015.
The regional workshop focused on environment education gathered 47 participants from eight different National Scout Organizations from the Asia-Pacific.
World Scout Bureau/Asia-Pacific Regional Director J. Rizal C. Pangilinan graced the inauguration, joining Ms Raheela Hamid Khan Durani, Patron in Chief Balochistan Boy Scouts Association and Member National Council of PBSA, Mr Zahid Mahboob PBSA Acting Secretary, and other guests. Mr Uzair Kamal, Development Support Manager of the Asia-Pacific Regional Support Centre coordinated the workshop.
