Bhutan hosts life skills seminar

Thirty one key leaders from nine NSOs have gathered on 22-25 June in the beautiful Khangku Resort in Paro, Bhutan for the APR Seminar on Life Skills for the 21st Century.

The opening ceremony was graced by the honorable Secretary of Education Ms Sangay Zam. In her speech, she stressed the importance of developing life skills for the young scouts for them to catch up with rapid changes of life. Young people must have the values to share, care and learn to live in harmony. She is also looking forward to a better scouting in Bhutan.
This four-day workshop aims to develop innovative youth-oriented educational programme that contributes to acquiring life skills relevant to 21st century. It will use Bernie Trilling’s 7Cs and the Renewed Approached to Programme (RAP) as framework to identify strategies and integrate it into Scouting.

Seminar director Mr. Karma Tenzin, facilitator Mr. Eric Lam, and Syd Castillo of WSB-APR formally opened the seminar.
