Cub Scouts in Greece are this year celebrating two major occasions: The Centenary of Scouting and the 75th anniversary of Cub Scouting in Greece. Working in partnership with UNICEF Hellas and SOS Children's Villages, numerous projects have already taken place at the local level, involving Cubs and their leaders.

Activities and projects have included promoting the understanding of children’s rights as set out in the Convention on the Rights of the Child, joint activities with children and young people from minority backgrounds, and fundraising in order to support the work of the two aforementioned organisations.

In addition, the Association has been active in its Gift for Peace in which Scouts are helping the children of immigrants better integrate into society, their schools and in the community. In the scope of this project, an event of great scale recently took place in Athens, involving more than 3,000 Cub Scouts and their Leaders. Coming from all around Greece to the Stadium where the 1897 Olympics took place, they meet one another, celebrated World Scouting and participate in activities based on the Gifts for Peace project.
