Scouts feature in Clean Up the World 2008 Report

The World Organization of the Scout Movement and Clean Up the World are pleased to share with you the 2008 Clean Up the World Activity Report launched today, the 5th of June, in line with World Environment Day. Scouts feature heavily in this report which shows the active participation from Scouts throughout the world.

The Allies Partnership of 2008 between WOSM and Clean Up the World has helped to showcase some of the local level environmental activities that Scouts have been involved in since the inception of the Clean Up the World campaign over the past 16 years and other Scout groups that have joined for the first time last year.

The Clean Up the World weekend is held annually in the third weekend of September, with Scouts encouraged to pencil the dates of the 19th & 20th of September into their calendars. National Scout Organizations can register with Clean Up the World and local Scout Groups can share their photographs and stories with people throughout the world.

Clean Up the World have developed interactive web tools in conjunction with Google to map the Clean Up the World activities. An example from the Scouts Musulmans Algeriens Activity Profile is featured in the 2008 Clean Up the World Activity Report and can be seen online.
