Partnering with Scouting

As a leading global youth movement, World Scouting works together with a number of organisations and networks to strengthen the achievement of the mission and purpose of Scouting. World Scouting is seen as a valuable partner by several bilateral, multilateral (particularly the UN and its agencies) and civil society organisations. WOSM has enjoyed General Consultative Status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) since 1947 and is regularly invited to express its views on topics related to the situation of young people in the world.

Scouting enjoys excellent relationships with almost all governments where it exists and often receives grants, incentives and support for the contribution Scouting makes to the all round development of the country’s children and youth. Scouting also partners with knowledge institutions, foundations, donor organisations, other movements and select corporate organisations.

All World Scouting’s partners are invited to participate in the Global Development Village of World Events through offering workshops and activities to participating Scouts on themes and subjects identified by the event organisers. For more information on World Events, please click here.
