The city of Cali has become the Scout epicentre of the Americas. Since 27 December, more than 2,000 children and young people from different countries across the continent have pitched their tents at Comfandi Pance to launch JamCam 2025, the year's most significant regional camp that merges two experiences into one: the Camporee (for Scouts aged 11 to 14) and the Jamboree (for young people aged 14 to 17).

Over seven days, participants will experience something that goes beyond traditional camping. The programme includes tours of Cali's most iconic locations, salsa workshops, community service projects and the opportunity to immerse themselves in the traditional Feria de Cali. Everything is designed so that Scouts not only discover Colombia, but experience its culture first-hand whilst strengthening the bonds that unite them as a continental movement.

The opening ceremony set the tone for what this collective adventure will be. With a parade of flags, the presentation of the event's official anthem, performances by the Colombian National Police band and traditional dance shows, the first evening made it clear that JamCam 2025 will be an unforgettable experience. "You will demonstrate your creativity, your teamwork and that energy that characterises Scout youth", expressed José Vargas, President of the Interamerican Scout Committee, during the ceremony.

The New Year celebration promises to be one of the camp's most special moments. On 31 December, the host delegation from Colombia has prepared a cultural celebration with invited artists to welcome 2026 alongside all participants, consolidating the spirit of fellowship that characterises the Scout Movement.

For the young people who arrived in Cali loaded with energy and expectations, this camp represents much more than activities and fun. "It's an opportunity to have fellowship, to have memories for a lifetime, those memories that transcend borders", commented Raúl Poveda, General Manager of JamCam. Diana Carrillo, Director of the Interamerican Support Centre, launched a challenge that captures the event's spirit: "I want to see who manages to exchange the most neckerchiefs and badges".

JamCam 2025 is not just a camp; it is the living manifestation of the motto that inspires it: Americas United for Peace. Until 2 January, these young people will demonstrate that cultural diversity, shared values and commitment to a better world can be built from tents, campfires and friendships that transcend borders.
