Debemos ser Scouts a la potencia X
Estimados Rovers:
El primero de agosto de 2007 celebramos los primeros 100 años de vida del Movimiento Scout, en aquél día, todos recordamos el amanecer del Movimiento Scout no importando en qué lugar del mundo nos encontráramos.
Hoy, once años después, estamos celebrando otro importante centenario. Hoy aquí en Perú, en nuestro III Moot Scout Interamericano, con muchos rovers de Interamérica y de otras regiones del mundo, celebramos el primer Centenario Rover.
Hace ya algunos años, cuando me llegó la edad de convertirme en Rover, descubrí que serlo no significa obtener unas insignias con la RS, descubrí que ser Rover significa ser Scout a la potencia X. Es decir llegar mucho más lejos de lo que yo podía lograr ser siendo Scout, que siendo Rover Scout podía:
- Vivir la Ley Scout en cada momento de mi vida, dando testimonio de ella.
- Ser capaz de descubrir que el mundo es un lugar maravilloso, lleno de gente maravillosa y de lugares maravillosos y darse a la tarea de descubrirlos a cada instante.
- Ser capaz de descubrir en el servicio un estilo de vida. Estar en todo momento pendiente de aquello que se puede hacer a favor de los demás, rompiendo las cadenas del egoísmo.
- Vivir guiado por principios. Y
- Vivir a plenitud cada día, como si fuese el último
El Valle Sagrado, con toda su historia, sus tradiciones y su cultura, es hoy testigo de nuestra celebración del Centenario Rover. Hemos venido desde lugares distantes de nuestro bello continente y de otros rincones del mundo a vivir este momento muy especial, que estoy seguro nunca olvidaremos.
Preparémonos para renovar nuestro compromiso para vivir sirviendo, para ser Scouts a la potencia X, para ser Rovers de tiempo completo.

Be Scouts to the X-power
Dear Rovers:
On August 1, 2007, we celebrated the first 100 years of Scouting. On that day, we all remember the dawn of Scouting no matter where we were, in the world.
Today, eleven years later, we are celebrating another important centenary. Today here in Peru, in our III Interamerican Scout Moot, with many rovers from Interamerica and from other regions of the world, we celebrate the first Rover Centennial.
A few years ago, when I reached the age of becoming a Rover, I discovered that being one does not mean getting some badges with the RS, I discovered that being a Rover means being a Scout with the X-power. In other words, I got to go much further than I could. That being a Rover Scout I could:
Live the Scout Law in every moment of my life, being a living testimony.
Being able to discover that the world is a wonderful place, full of wonderful people and wonderful places and it is a dudy for oneself discover them at every moment.
Being able to discover in the service a life style. To be in all moments aware of what we can do to help other, beaking free from the chains of selfishness.
Live by your principles. And
Live to the fullest every day, as if it was our last
The Sacred Valley, with all its history, traditions and culture, is today witness to our celebration of the Rover 100. We have come from distant places of our beautiful continent and from other corners of the world to live this very special moment, which I am sure we will never forget.
Let's prepare ourselves to renew our commitment to live serving, to be Scouts to the X-power, to be full-time Rovers.
