National Assembly of the Scouts of Colombia Association

During March 22 - 24, near the city of Ibagué (Colombia), was held the 51st National Assembly of the Scouts of Colombia Association. All Scout Regions were present, as well as other guests, among them the World Scout Bureau – Interamerican Region through Ralf Dillmann, Regional Director for Adults in Scouting. The assembly was an example of true comradeship and the usual topics of the agenda (reports, budget and elections of new authorities) developed in a smooth way, demonstrating the interest of the participants to strengthen their National Scout Organization. Following that spirit also important changes to their constitution were approved.
The Regional Director for Adults in Scouting, who acted as an observer during the meeting, haad a moment to address the assembly and presentto the participants the recently approved Regional Policies (Youth Programme, Adults in Scouting, Institutional Development and Youth Involvement) and, some highlights of the Regional Plan 2014-2016. He invited them to actively collaborate in the development of the plan and the policies and, in that way, sum efforts and multiply results.
He also underlined the importance of the Messengers of Peace initiative for all scouts (from cub-scouts to adults) as a way of doing service actions and creating a better world. At the end he invited all participantsto join the Messengers of Peace Network at www.scout.org.
