Jamboree On The Air – Jamboree On The Internet (JOTA-JOTI) is an official international event of the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM). All Scouts of any age, in any country can participate - all you need is an amateur radio or an internet connection!

Scouts from all over the world communicate over the Air (amateur radio) and the Internet using any technology locally available. There are lots of different ways to communicate, including text-based chat, voice chat, video chat, emails, blogs, and social media networks.

The purpose of JOTA-JOTI is to enable and encourage Scouts around the world to communicate with one another by means of amateur radio and the internet, providing a fun and educational Scouting experience and promoting their sense of belonging to a worldwide Scout Movement.

This year’s JOTA-JOTI 2015 will take place over the weekend 16th to 18th October. It is for each JOTA-JOTI location to decide when during the weekend they will be operational.

Thousands of Scouts & Guides come to ScoutLink every year during JOTI. They come from different countries, scout groups, ages, nationalities, and cultures. This is a great opportunity to swap experiences, make new friends, and to learn more about Scouting & Guiding all around the world.

Get involved!
It is very simple – just visit www.scoutlink.net/ and choose choose one of the options:

To help you keep track of all the countries you meet people from you can join in with our JamPuz - short for Jamboree Puzzle. The objective of JamPuz is to make contact with other Scouts (and Guides) and to help participants to record the variety of countries etc that contact has been made with. The principle is simple – every time you have a conversation with another JOTA-JOTI location during the JOTA-JOTI weekend you ask for, and record, their JID – and they will record your JID. JamPuz is about recording all the amazing locations people you have conversations with are from.

For more information on JOTA/JOTI, JamPuz, and how to get involved check out the website, and the Facebook and Twitter pages. You can also email the JOTA/JOTI help team at help@scoutlink.net if you need more information.

Remember to share with us your stories on Scout.org, Facebook and Twitter using the hashtag #jotajoti!
We look forward to seeing you there!
