About DP Santos

DP has a degree in Nursing from Bulacan State University in Malolos City, Bulacan. He also studied Practical Nursing in St. Augustine School of Nursing in 2012. As part of his pursuit for continuing education, he is currently enrolled in an online curriculum from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, United States of America taking up courses in Epidemiology and Instructional Methods in Health Professions Education.

He is a member of the Boy Scouts of the Philippines, he is one of the youngest Wood badge holder in the Bulacan Council. He has been involved in developing future Eagle Scouts and Adult Scout Leaders since 2010.

He is also Certified Adventure-based Leadership Development and Values Formation Trainer/ Facilitator. He has been in the Development Work since 2013 and help engaged at least ten thousand (10,000) young people in different development and empowerment initiatives, government and non-government agencies all over the country.

Currently, he is the Technical Assistant of Barangay Bottom-Up Budgeting Program by the Department of the Interior and Local Government, Barangay Bottom-Up Budgeting (BBuB) is a budgetary reform initiatives of the government, intends to pursue inclusive growth, poverty reduction, and promote good governance at the barangay level by engaging community-based people’s organizations.

A proud alumnus of the Hagonoy Young Leaders Congress, the flagship program of the Hagonoy Young Leaders Program (HYLeaP) that seeks to develop future community leaders through grassroots youth empowerment and engaging them to different community development initiatives in the town of Hagonoy in the province of Bulacan.

DP co-founded the Philippine – Leadership and Empowerment Alliance for Development, Incorporated (PH-LEAD, Inc.), the Philippines’ pioneer in countryside youth development where he is serving as the Executive Director.

In 2014, he has been designated as the Northern Luzon Command (NoLCom), Area Command Representative and Region III Convenor of the National Youth Leadership Summit of the Armed Forces of the Philippines. NYLS is the landmark project of the AFP to provide youth leadership development activities which will provide them with avenues and opportunities to harness their activism, idealism, and enthusiasm for nation building programs and peace development initiatives.

He has been a delegate for both national and international youth gatherings such as 11th National Youth Parliament, Freedom of Information Youth Congress 2014, National Youth Leaders Congress, International Youth Leaders Conference 2014, National Youth Congress 2013, ADB-RMAF Youth Dialogue: Social Innovation as Catalyst for Change, 26th Asia-Pacific Regional Scout Jamboree and 14th National Scout Jamboree

Prior joining the development sector, DP is an ardent advocate of Public Health and Community Development. He is a Weekend Warrior, he juggled from doing freelance strategic development consulting, conducting leadership development programs for young people in the country. He believes that every Filipino must receive proper health care rather than become part of the statistics to push the nation forward.
