Paul Parkinson Recognised with Prestigious Bronze Wolf Award

The World Scout Committee has awarded the Bronze Wolf, Scouting’s highest honour, to Paul Parkinson for his outstanding service to the Scout Movement.

 

Paul Parkinson joined the Scout Movement as a Wolf Cub in 1959 and went on to become a Rover Scout, adult leader, and a Scout section leader. For more than 15 years, he has worked diligently to support Scouting at the regional and world levels, leveraging his strong understanding of educational methods and strategic management.

 

In 2015, he was the Regional Chairman of the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee, a position he assumed with great passion and commitment. During his term, he worked on the WOSM membership of Macau, Myanmar, and Timor Leste.

 

At the world level, Paul was appointed to the WOSM Working Party of the Educational Methods Committee in 2011 which explored 21st century leadership. He is currently a member of the Educational Methods Work Stream and the Global Support Network and continues to be involved actively in this role. 

 

From 2015 to 2018, Paul served the World Scout Committee as an ex-officio. He is currently a consultant to the Asia-Pacific Region Scout Committee, a member of the Regional Decision Committee for Messengers of Peace as well as the Asia-Pacific Region Specialist Panel. Additionally, he is a GSAT Facilitator Trainer and a member of the Good Governance Work Stream.

 

Paul lives his life based on Scouting values and is known for his innovative and highly developed organisational, training, and presentation skills. His experience as a leader at all levels for over 40 years has enabled him to bring a personal approach to all he does, and he remains committed to the development and expansion of Scouting at all levels.
