WOSM Service Platform now open to all 170 National Scout Organizations
Today, the World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) announced the launch of the full WOSM Services as a new approach to strengthen the capacity of National Scout Organizations (NSO) and deliver better Scouting activities and programmes to more young people worldwide.
The innovative platform makes it easier for NSOs to request direct support and access high-quality resources and e-learning courses connected to the core areas of Scouting programmes and operations from youth engagement to spiritual development and good governance.
WOSM Services, which was soft launched in June 2018 and tested across regions with the help of hundreds of WOSM volunteers, NSO representatives, and World Scout Bureau (WSB) staff, now features a range of new upgrades that are now available to all 170 NSOs.
The platform hosts more than 700 structured resources, publications, and videos in different working languages of WOSM, making it the largest hub for Scouting resources. A range of interactive e-learning courses are also now live on the platform. The courses focus on education around key Scouting programmes, initiatives, and topic areas including Scouts for SDGs, Safe from Harm, Global Support Assessment Tool (GSAT), diversity and inclusion, humanitarian action, and more.
In addition to this support, NSOs can requestforin-person or online support through the platform from a pool of 50 trained consultants comprised of WSB staff and WOSM volunteers who can offer expertise and guidance in each the WOSM Services.
The WOSM Service Platform is currently available in English, French, and Spanish, with plans to make it available in Russian and Arabic in the coming months. More new e-learning courses and resources will be released throughout the year, along a new WOSM Service on growth that will help NSOs develop their strategies for outreach to engage more young people and volunteers in Scouting.
