National Level Youth Forum, Rajasthan Testimonial:

The Bharat Scouts And Guides held the National level Youth forum at State Training Centre, Jagatpura, Rajasthan from 12th - 16th September , 2018, around 250 Rovers and Ranger from 24 State Associations all over India participated in this Youth Forum. In this Youth forum 9 Rovers and Rangers from different State Associations all over India were invited as the Staff members for conducting the Youth Forum, names as follows – Kumar Ritesh Agarwal (Chairman of the Steering committee), Pallobi Biswas, Debanwita Halder, Rahul Rungta, Pruthviraj G Girimaji, Lakshmi Kiran Nagumanthri, Sarveshwaran Natesan, Sivaharigaran Gandhikumar, Harshad Ismail Vittal , and were also made the members of the National Steering Committee of The Bharat Scouts And Guides. The theme of the Youth Forum was “Growth and Stability”.

The camp started one day before the Youth Forum with the arrival of the staffs and for the first time in The Bharat Scouts And Guides history the Youths (National Steering Committee) were given the full responsibility to run the whole youth forum with the guidance of the director of The Boy Programme and Leader of the camp (L.O.C) Mr. Amar Chetri, World Scout Bureau APR Support Centre / Director of Educational Methods Mr. Syd Castillo, Mr. Madhusudan AS, R.O.C(S) of Eastern Region Mr. Bablu Goswami, R.O.C(S) of the Southern Region Mr. Analendra Sharma, Mr. Pankaj Gupta and Ms. Spriha Kanwar. The preparations and planning for the Youth Forum were done that day.

The next day participants started arriving and registration were done, also for the first time the online registration were initiative were taken and were successful, followed by Flag Ceremony, Integration Session (where all 9 members of the Steering Committee were introduced to the Forum), the Chairman of the Youth Forum Kumar Ritesh Agarwal made his speech and introduced the Forum with the Youth Forum objectives and the day ended with a cultural Evening.

On the 2 nd day the Youth Forum was introduced with the Guidelines and Procedures of Youth forum, Youth Engagements, Introduction of Better World Framework, Youth Voice (where total 9 candidates spoke for 3 minutes each on the topic of Growth and Stability), Recommendation Committee was formed followed by cultural evening.

On the 3rd day the Scouts of the World Award was introduced to the Youth Forum followed by the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s) in scouting with group work , A session on Diversity & Inclusion (where Rovers & Rangers spoke on the topics – Human Rights, Gender, Ethnicity, Culture, Demographics, Lifestyle, Religion, Intergenerational). And last but not the least the day ended with an authentic Fashion Show in the evening.

On the 4th day the forum was introduced about the Messengers of Peace (MOP) and Registration in www.scout.org was done. World Scout Environment Programme (WSEP) was also introduced and plantation of few tree saplings was done on the State Training Centre of Jagatpura, Rajasthan. Later the Role of Youth of decision-making bodies was discussed followed by the Grand Camp fire.

The Youth Forum ended with the introduction about the Young Adult Members Group (YAMG) of the Asia-Pacific Region (APR) and the Role of YAMG. A session was also taken by our International Commissioner (IC) (S) followed by Commitment ceremony, Presentation of the Recommendation, Distribution of Certificates, Closing Formalities and Lowering of Flag.
