OGUN STATE (NIGERIA) CHIEF JUDGE ASSUMES PRESIDENCY OF SCOUTS COUNCIL, PLEDGES COMMITMENT TO MASS RECRUITMENT OF SCOUTS.
The State Chief Judge, Hon.Justice Monilola Dipeolu has expressed her commitment to the growth and development of scouting in the State towards contributing to young leadership development.
She also promised to ensure that judges, magistrates and registry staff of the state judiciary join the Scout Movement for role modelling and mentoring of Scouts.
The Chief Judge said this at her investiture as President of Ogun State Scout Council at the Conference Hall of the State High Court, lsabo, Abeokuta.
She advocated that Scout troops should be established in all public and private schools in Ogun state, calling on Scouts leaders to be aggressive in their membership recruitment and training programmes.
Directing the investiture, the Chief Commissioner, The Scout Association of Nigeria, Hon Dave Anwuna, who was represented by the Deputy Chief Commissioner, Prince Adeolu Oyelami urged the President as head of scouting in Ogun State to use all her connection to support the State participation at the 24th World Jamboree scheduled for the United State next year August.
In their separate goodwill messages, a former minister of Finance, Dr Onaolapo Soleye, the Olu of Kobape, Oba Olufemi Alani Taylor and Chief Gabriel Osibowale urged Scouters in the State to cooperate with the new Scout President for quality Scouting Service delivery to the boys and Girls.
Dignitaries at the event include High Court Judges, Magistrates and Court Registrars.
Other are the State Girls Guide Commissioner, Mrs Alaba Kusimo, Deputy Chairman of National Youth Council in Ogun State, Comrade Babatunde Adegbite, Erudite Scout Trainers including Chief Adewuyi Kusimo, Apostle Tola Adenekan, Pastor G.S. Afariogun and Pius Feyisetan among others.
The investiture was preceded with a inspection of Guard of Honour mounted by Scout Parade and Band Squad and presentation of a symbolic Scout Sign as crafted by a Scout Leader
