Strengthening Adult Support
Sustained interest in the Adults in Scouting Policy was one of the main reasons why 41 participants were at the four-day APR Workshop on Adult Support held at the Office of Council of Ministers in Phnom Penh representing Australia, Bangladesh, Brunei, Cambodia, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Maldives, Philippines, and Singapore.
On 24th June, Mr Pith Chamnann, Secretary of State of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, inaugurated the workshop. Others present in the ceremony were Mr. Phan Sokim, Chief Commissioner of Cambodia Scouts; Mr Kong Ouk, Vice President; IC Mr Tuon Siphann; Mr Touch Choeun, AIS Commissioner; Mr Rajalingam Ramasamy, Chairman of APR Adult Support Sub-Committee and its members.
The workshop was under the directorship Mr Lak Sam Ath, Secretary General of Cambodia Scouts supported by Dr Jeffrey Ho (Singapore), Mr Mohammed Rafiqul Islam Khan (Bangladesh), Mr Ng Ah-ming (Hong Kong), and Mr Thian Hiong Boon (WSB, APR) who all served as resource speakers.
Discussions include the implementation of World Adults in Scouting Policy, Survey on Adult Support 2014, Adults involvement in APR Plan, Dialogue with local adult leaders, Competency of adults in delivering effective Program and Training activities, Reflection on WSEC in Hong Kong 2013.
APR Adult Support Sub-Committee meeting. Ten members of the sub-committee attended the meeting on 23rd June, headed by Sub-Committee Chairman Rajalingam Ramasamy, at the Office of the Council of Ministers in Phnom Penh.
