what did I learn at the MoP seminar, Peace is not a value that is given to us, it is a value and attitude that we must learn in order to know, we must include this value in everyday behavior, in large and small acts of love and kindness. The value of peace is a value that cannot be taught like any other scouting subject; it is a value that must grow inside us, in the difficult moments but also in the joys of everyday life. Peace and dialogue is something that we have to make ours and spread among others. Practicing Peace is an exercise of life that involves us with our family, friends colleagues and that is with us in every place we live. Being scouts and messengers of peace is a great challenge, but it is a very good challenge, however it is made more and more difficult by a world that seems to deny all our good intentions. However, the learning and experience I gained from this wonderful seminar and listening to the lecturers who have actively engaged with thousands of children, teenagers and youth to communicate to them a sign of hope and optimism. We learnt during this seminar and the sharing of ideas and information that it is possible to “educate for peace”, and saying this, I want to emphasize the semantic value of the word “educate”, which in its root means “to lead”, but also “walk together”, walking side by side. Is it not a beautiful image of two or more scouts walking together, they educate each other, help each other to grow: it is the image of scouting as it should be, (young people helping to create a better world)
