Scout In Diaspora - Links to Scouts Groups Away From Home

There are thousands of scouts living or travelling to countries away from their homes.

The vision of this association is to support WOSM in accomplishing its 2023 vision and also unite scouting worldwide. These will also bridge the differences in scouting from various NSOs.

There are thousands of scouts living in the UK, USA, Canada, Japan, South Africa, Nigeria, Japan, South Korea, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand and so on. These people have scouting background back home in their countries as a volunteer, leader or younger scout. What are the opportunities available to these people away from their homes?

How can they participate in scouting events away from home?

Twin Scouting
Connect with a Scout group in another country by developing a twin scouting relationship. Not only will it expand their knowledge of another scouting life and cultures, but it will also increase their scouting’s global impact.

International Connections
From living abroad to joining a Scouting Group, they will discover a variety of ways to connect globally through Scouting, know the differences in scouting ways of life. They will also have ways of sharing their new scouting experience to scout groups at home through various media.

Multi NSOs Information Sharing
Multi NSOs information sharing will help in exchange for developing programs between the young one and several NSOs. Scouts In Diaspora will bring members together to exchange ideas, share information, and meet other young leaders.

A great way of helping Scouts from various NSOs understand more about Scouting as a global movement that will also put them in contact with Scouts in other countries and learn their doings.

A great way of making young people value the similarities between Scouts across the world, despite their very different backgrounds and experiences.

You will also learn about opportunities available for members of BSA, UK scout living away from home.

Having served in various capacities in Nigeria, UK and with BSA; I know what it takes to scout away from home.
