The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) is made up of 172 National Scout Organizations all over the world, divided into six Regions: Africa, Arab, Asia-Pacific, Eurasia, Europe and Interamerica. The World Scout Conference, which takes place every three years, is the governing body of WOSM. It elects a World Scout Committee, which is the executive body of the organisation. The World Scout Bureau is the secretariat and is headed by a Secretary General.

For Scouting to emerge as a stronger Movement from these unprecedented challenges and great uncertainties caused by the global COVID-19 pandemic, more than ever we need to work together. A one-year plan was initiated by the World Scout Committee to bridge the period between the end of the 2017-2020 Triennium and the 42nd World Scout Conference.
