FUNDING FOR SCOUT-LED PROJECTS PROMOTING PEACE CULTURE NOW OPEN
The World Organization of the Scout Movement (WOSM) in collaboration with King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz International Centre for Interreligious and Intercultural Dialogue (KAICIID) launched an open-call for Scout-led projects that promote a culture of peace in their communities. Upon meeting the set criteria, these projects shall be fully funded by KAICIID for implementation in local communities.
The project concept could involve trainings, practice of dialogue circles and/or a local awareness campaigns focusing on creating a culture of peace.
The Dialogue for Peace fund is available to all Scouts*, Cub packs**and Scout leaders whose project objectives reflect any of the Dialogue for Peace Initiative Areas***:
a. Promote education, including education in leadership skills, and
b. to equip young people with knowledge and skills to become responsible citizens
c. Addressing at least one of the dimensions of dialogue, e.g. interreligious, intercultural, intergenerational, intergender.
Dialogue for Peace fund Terms and Conditions:
• Project applications will be received starting from December 2019 until 31 May 2020.
• The project duration must be six months, including implementation and conclusion of project.
• The maximum amount to be granted per project is up to USD 3,000.
• All selected projects are required to comply with the reporting process of the Scout Donation Platform, including regular project updates and a final report to be submitted at the end for the project.
*Scouts registered in any NSO that in good standing with WOSM
**Projects submitted by participants under 18 years old should have a parent, guardian, or Scout leader supporting the project at all times.
***Capital or infrastructure projects excluded.
ABOUT THE SCOUT DONATION PLATFORM
The Scout Donation Platform is a global online social donation platform dedicated to Scouts. It helps National Scout Organizations, National Scout Associations and Scout groups to fund their projects by engaging with their communities via social media. Unlike other social funding platforms, there are no fees involved, so 100% of the funds collected are channeled to the successful projects.
