Messengers of Peace Updates November 2012

7th Dec 2012

Messengers of Peace Platform:

The Messengers of Peace Platform is now open and available to all Scouts who want to make a commitment to action as a “Messenger of Peace”. The Platform is operating in 'Beta' mode as the process to upgrade functions and solve some initial bugs are put in place, but this does not spoil a visit to the most exciting new online Platform for Scouts exchange.

The role of the Platform is to provide a hub of global Scout activity that, when coupled with Scouts using Social Media, creates an inter-connected Network for Scouts worldwide.

The Platform provides a wide range of tutorials and learning materials, team game ideas, inspirational projects and a “Super Map” that displays your personal 'Flag' to show your individual commitment to action.

All Scouts are invited to “Log In” and create a profile on Then, if Scouts want to highlight their personal commitment to action – such as a service or peace project – they should go to the “Project” section, select “Message” and fill in the details.

Plus, each Scout is encouraged to join their local Social Media pages. All Scouts have a part to play in creating a better world!

Scouts are creating a better world NOW! TODAY!

During the month of November, a Messenger of Peace Photo Competition has been launched which is open to all Scouts of any age, worldwide. Scouts worldwide will vote for their favorites, and winners will be selected by a combination of Judges and votes by Scouts. Prizes for over-13 Scouts will be ”adventure based” and winners will partake in a specially organized programme to work with top photographers - an experience not to be missed! Prizes for under-13 Scouts will be Scout equipment for a Group or a Patrol.
