Ternopil hosted a seminar as part of the project "Platform of the Рeace. Scouting unites Ukraine."

18. Дек 2012

On this seminar the members of the National organization of Scouts of Ukraine studied how the scout movement can help to unite Ukrainian youth.

What might Nil Armstrong, Stiven Spilberg, Bill Clinton, Bill Gates, Richard Gere, John Kennedy, Paul McCartney, Barack Obama, Bohdan Havrylyshyn, Oleh Olzhych and Roman Shukhevych have in common? They all were scouts!

Scout movement is an international non-political youth movement, which aims to develop physical, mental and spiritual health of the young generation. In other words, it forms the real leaders of society and elite representatives.

Approximately thirty scouts from different regions (Ternopil, Khmelnytsk, Rivne, Volyn) of the Ternopil scout county took part in a large-scale project "Platform of the Peace. Scouting unites Ukraine" during first two days of December.

The goal of the workshop was to spread the information about scout movement and activity of the AYNO "National Organization of Scouts of Ukraine", to develop common educative line of work with scouts, to share knowledge and to work on the projects common for the departments of the Ternopil scout county of AYNO NOSU.

During the seminar "Platform of the Peace. Scouting unites Ukraine", which was financially supported by the World Organization of the Scout Movement project "Messengers of Peace", the participants discussed the upcoming youth events, the prospects of the Scout Method development, got to know each other and shared knowledge. They also discussed the international potential of the organization.

"I have high expectations for this project. We have to work together to achieve our goals, to develop healthy and strong society. We are stronger when we stand together," the coordinator of the project in Ternopil county, the head of Ternopil regional department of the AYNO "National Organisation of Scouts of Ukraine" scout Nazar Zelinka said.
