Dear friends,

Looking ahead to the next triennium, World Scouting is inviting volunteers from around the world to support the implementation of the next World Triennial Plan 2021-2024 and advance our work towards achieving Vision 2023 as our Strategy for Scouting.

By volunteering for World Scouting, young people and adults have an opportunity to contribute their knowledge, expertise, and ideas to shape the future of the world’s leading educational youth movement. Volunteers also get the chance to develop professionally, meet new friends from across Scouting, gain international experience in a multi-cultural environment, and have fun as a member of a global team.

The call is now open to any volunteer over 18 years of age who is a member of a National Scout Organization (NSO). NSOs are encouraged to share the open call on their communications channels to help attract volunteers that reflect the diversity of the Scout Movement and to promote a strong intergenerational, cultural and gender balance in applications.

Volunteers can apply before the deadline of 15 September 2021 through an online application form at

As part of the process, NSOs must fill in an endorsement form by 5 October 2021 for their members who apply. After this time, any volunteer applications without the endorsement of their NSO will not be eligible. NSOs can learn more about this open call process during the dedicated question and answer sessions during the upcoming World Scout Conference.

Selected volunteers will be welcomed during a global induction at the start of December and trained in WOSM’s new approach to project management and transversal team collaboration which was piloted over the past year with strong success.

If you have any questions regarding the volunteer open call, including the endorsement and selection process, please contact Pauline Grangette, Junior Manager, Adult Development at the World Scout Bureau at

Yours in Scouting,

Ahmad Alhendawi

Secretary General
