Level 2 Course in the Interamerican Region gathered in Bogota
From past June 27 to July 1 was held in Bogotá (Colombia) the physical meeting of the Level 2 Course for Trainers of Trainers being currently run in the Inter American Region. In that way, 40 adults coming from six countries (Colombia, Dominican Republic, Ecuador, Panama, Peru and Venezuela) gathered in the national headquarters of Scouts of Colombia, where all the activities and sessions were developed.
The course’s Team is composed of Saâd Zian (Director, Adults in Scouting WSB-CO), Rafe Lucado (Member, Interamerican Scout Committee), Paulo Velásquez (Director, Adults in Scouting COL), Ricardo Blanco (Director, Adults in Scouting VEN) and Ralf Dillmann (Director, Adults in Scouting WSB-IAR)
It was a very intensive course. Different methodologies were used during the sessions, in order to serve as an example of how things can be done. Participants learned by doing and with group discussions. Main topics of the course, among others, were: Philosophical and methodological fundamentals, Organization and Movement: the ideal relationship, the management of adults in Scouting (life cycle, principles, retention, follow-up, evaluation, decisions for the future), Competencies of adults in Scouting, and Systemic thinking.
The course had a virtual phase before this meeting, were participants had the chance to get acquainted between each other’s, as well as to develop some of the contents. After Bogota, the course keeps running for three more months, where the participants will have the chance to develop some practices.
"It was an excellent training course, very Scout, which reflected the brotherhood in the Region. Pertinent and according to the actual requirements of adult resources", said one of the participants in the evaluation of the physical meeting in Bogota.
