WESTCOSIE Fun Day and Social Night

The Western Council of Special and Inclusive Educators is an amalgamation of 6 Special schools, 2 Inclusive schools and 1 Vocational training centre. Every year the WESTCOSIE organising committee puts together a two day event that brings these schools together to participate in fun sporting events and to allow students and teachers to showcase their performing arts skill. This year the event saw a total of 500 students, 80 parents and 70 teachers from the western division.

This event is organized each year to promote on the abilities of children with special needs. With a marching ceremony at the beginning of the event, awareness on the children with special needs are carried out. The main goal for organizing this event is to show the world that children with special needs are no different than those in normal mainstream schools. The arrangement of events were carried out in such a way that both girls and boys were given the same opportunity to take part in events. Respecting an individual and accepting their identity to bring PEACE and HARMONY in the society.
